It happens every year.
You arrive at Thanksgiving dinner and watch as the table gets filled with all kinds of food—mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, and of course the turkey. Food that’s not a part of your health and fitness plan.
You grab a plate, but you know that sticking to your plan will be difficult.
Overeating seems inevitable. Recovery will be impossible.
Then come the desserts! Pies, cakes, custards, and more pies.
When was the last time you felt this way? Getting together with your family and friends is supposed to be fun, but you worry about the consequences.
If you try not to eat anything, you might end up binging.
If you do overeat, feelings of anger and guilt can ruin the day.
Dr. Mimi and I know that eating one bite can lead to two, taking a second plate can lead to a third, and falling off track for a few days can turn into weeks.
But Thanksgiving doesn’t have to throw you off track!
